The Goddess Project

I created “The Goddess Project” in direct response to the COVID-19 event. What began as a desire to document junior and senior high school women in their prom attire evolved quickly into documenting women at all life stages, in attire that makes them feel beautiful. Fifty seven women from across the state have been photographed for free over the last year. Phase 1 will culminate in July of 2021 with an event highlighting the Goddesses of Little Compton.

When the curtain fell on our sense of normalcy, I wanted to respond in a concrete way. The Goddess Project evolved quickly from The Prom Project which was intended to buoy juniors and seniors during the spring of 2020. Because Rights Of Passages are critical and the world was already spinning, I thought I could offer my skills to capture them in some special place–thus immortalizing the moment that would not be immortalized in the traditional way.

Though immediately impactful, it became challenging during Covid to access this population. Concurrent to this potential setback, a more mature woman reached out asking me if I would photograph her in a similar way, and The Goddess Project was born.

This is an ever-evolving event that will end on December 31, 2021. Please reach out if you would like to be photographed.
